Marshawn Lynch & Raiders Haven’t Agreed To Deal, Despite Reports

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that the Raiders and RB Marshawn Lynch haven’t officially agreed to the parameters of a deal, but there’s optimism that a deal will get done. Rapoport that this is expected to happen at some point in the near future.

Furthermore, former Seahawks FB Michael Robinson, who’s very close to Lynch, also denies that there’s a deal in place.

Mike Silver of NFL Media is reporting that Marshawn Lynch has agreed to terms with the Raiders on a new deal.

  • Ed Werder recently reported that the Raiders and Lynch were working on a deal that includes “heavy incentives.”

There were indications from Lynch and others on Twitter that he had come to an agreement with the Raiders, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

This is just the first step in Lynch returning to the NFL and eventually ending up with the Raiders. As of now, the Seahawks still hold his rights and will need to work out a trade with Oakland in order for him to end up with the Raiders.

Yesterday, Ian Rapoport reported that the Seahawks and Raiders are expected to work out a trade for Lynch once Oakland and Lynch had an agreement in place. With this in mind, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see something come together in the near future.

It’s unlikely that the Raiders would be willing to offer much more than a conditional low-round pick for Lynch, and considering that impact his reinstatement would have on the Seahawks’ salary cap, it would make sense for them to move him for whatever they can get.

Lynch, 30, has two years remaining on his three-year, $31 million contract that included $12 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries of $9 million and $7 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2015, Lynch In 2015, Lynch appeared in seven games for the Seahawks and rushed for 417 yards on 111 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 80 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.
