Packers Signing WR Davante Adams To Four-Year, $58M Deal

Adam Schefter reports that the Packers are signing WR Davante Adams to a four or five-year contract extension worth roughly $14 million per year.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Adams receives a four-year extension worth $58 million, which includes $18 million to sign and $32 million paid out over the first two years of the agreement.

This is a huge deal for the Packers, as keeping Adams in place was a top priority for them this offseason. Had the Packers not locked Adams up, he would have been an obvious candidate for the franchise tag.

Adams, 25, is a former second-round pick out of Fresno State by the Packers in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was in the final year of a four-year, $3.933 million rookie contract and made a base salary of $956,373 this season.

In 2017, Adams appeared in 14 games and caught 74 passes for 885 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns for the Packers. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 14 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 25 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
