Patriots Sign WR Kenny Britt To Two-Year Deal

Field Yates is reporting that the Patriots are finalizing a deal with former Browns WR Kenny Britt on Tuesday. Adam Schefter adds that a deal is expected to be completed shortly.

  • Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots are paying WR Kenny Britt a pro-rated portion of the veteran minimum $900,000 this year and $1.5 million in 2018 with a chance to earn up to $2 million by reaching incentives included in the contract.

The Browns elected to cut Britt loose just a day after new GM John Dorsey was hired. He officially passed through waivers unclaimed on Monday.

Britt, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Titans back in 2009. He spent five years in Tennessee before signing on with the Rams in 2014.

The Browns signed Britt to a four-year, $32.5 million deal back in March before he was placed on waivers last week.

In 2017, Britt has appeared in nine games and recorded nine receptions for 233 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 103 overall receiver out of 116 qualifiers.
