Raiders Trade DE Khalil Mack To Bears

Update:

Adam Schefter has the full breakdown of the Khalil Mack trade with the Bears.

  • Bears get: DE Khalil Mack 2020 2nd-rd pick conditional 2020 5th-rd pick
  • Raiders get: 2019 1st-rd pick 2020 1st-rd pick 2020 3rd-rd pick 2019 6th-rd pick

Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders and Bears have an agreement in place on a trade that will send DE Khalil Mack to Chicago. According to Schefter, the two teams are still working on the deal, but the Raiders are planning to trade Mack to the Bears.

Ian Rapoport confirms the news and adds that the Bears now have permission to negotiate an extension with Mack and have been doing so since last night. Rapoport says that Chicago was the only team willing to meet the Raiders’ asking price for Mack.

Last night, Rapoport was told that Raiders’ asking price for Mack was two first-round picks and player, but there was only one team willing to offer that much.

The Bears are expected to negotiate a long-term deal with Mack that should surpass the recent six-year, $135 million extension signed by Rams DT Aaron Donald, according to Rapoport.

Reports have said that the Raiders want at least two first-round picks to trade Mack and the expectation is that Oakland will get this and possibly more.

Mack, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. Mack played out the final year of his four-year, $18,677,002, but the Raiders picked up his fifth-year option last April.

Mack is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2019. Oakland will have their franchise tag available to use on Mack in 2019 if they don’t get a long-term extension done.

In 2017, Mack appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 78 tackles, 10.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 6 edge defender out of 1086 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 25 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
