Raiders Signing G Gabe Jackson To Five-Year, $56M Extension

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that the Raiders have reached an agreement with G Gabe Jackson on a long-term extension.

  • According to Rapoport, Jackson receives a five-year, $56 million extension from the Raiders.
  • Jackson’s new contract includes $26 million guaranteed, according to Josina Anderson.

Earlier in the day, Josina Anderson reported that the Raiders were focused getting a new contract in place for Jackson and it appears as though they were able to get this one done rather quickly.

This new deal for Jackson appears to be very similar to the deal signed by fellow Raiders G Kelechi Osemele’s, who got a five-year, $58.5 million contract, which included $25,400,000 guaranteed.

Jackson, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.952 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2017 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2018.

Last year, Jackson appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 22 guard out of 72 qualifying players.
