Rams Trading DE Robert Quinn To Dolphins

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Rams are trading DE Robert Quinn and a late-round pick to the Dolphins for a mid- and late-round picks

  • According to Peter Schrager, the Rams receive 2018 fourth- and sixth-round picks and the Dolphins get DE Robert Quinn and the Rams 2018 sixth-round pick.

Last week, one report mentioned that Quinn was discussed in the Rams’ trade with the Chiefs for CB Marcus Peters before Kansas City decided to focus on draft compensation for their Pro Bowl cornerback, so it was clear that Quinn was available if a team wanted to pursue a deal.

Quinn joins a Dolphins’ defense that has been in need of pass-rush help.

It’s worth mentioning that this trade can’t be officially completed until March 14.

Quinn, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2011. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $66.575 million extension that included $41.268 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salaries of $10.333 million and $11.811 million over the next two years of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Quinn will free up $11,444,412 of available cap space while creating $955,358 in dead money.

In 2017, Quinn appeared in 15 games for the Rams and recorded 32 tackles, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 87 edge rusher out of 108 qualifying players.
