Ravens HC John Harbaugh told reporters after Sunday’s win over the Rams that QB Joe Flacco suffered a torn ACL during the game and will subsequently miss the remainder of the season.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Flacco may also have an MCL tear in his knee.
  • David Chao mentions that Flacco is still likely to be back for Week 1 of next year, even if he has both an ACL and MCL tear.

Flacco was unfortunately rolled up on by one of his offensive lineman late into the game. However, Flacco managed to finish the game.

The Ravens will place him on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days.

Veteran Matt Schaub will takeover as the team’s starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.

Flacco, 30, is in the third year of his  six-year, $120.6 million contract that included $52 million guaranteed. He’ll make base salaries of $4 million (2015), $18 million (2016), $20.6 million (2017), and $20 million (2018) over the remainder of the agreement.

Entering today’s game, Flacco had thrown for 2,492 yards while completing 64.8 percent of his passes to go along with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions over the course of nine games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 quarterback out of 35 qualifying players.
