Redskins Officially Trade S Su’a Cravens To Broncos

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Redskins are trading S Su’a Cravens to the Broncos on Wednesday. According to Schefter, the Broncos will sway fourth- and fifth-round picks and send Washington an additional fifth-round pick as part of this trade.

  • Mike Klis adds that deal includes a conditional 2020 sixth-round pick that depends on whether Cravens plays in a playoff game.

Here’s how the trade breaks down:

Broncos get:

  • Su’a Cravens
  • 4th-rd pick (#113)
  • 5th-rd pick (#149)

Redskins get:

  • 4th-rd pick (#109)
  • 5th-rd pick (#142)
  • 5th-rd pick (#163)
  • 2020 6th-rd pick (conditional)

It was clear that the Broncos were the team to watch for Cravens once he made the decision to continue his NFL career after sitting out the 2017 season. Trade talks between the two teams dated back to the Combine and it looks like they were able to hammer out the final details at the owner’s meeting this week.

Cravens was officially reinstated by the NFL earlier this offseason after spending the 2017 season on the reserve/left squad list.

Schefter reported a few months ago that Cravens received medical clearance to resume all football activities and plans to play next season.

Cravens, 22, is a former second-round pick of the Redskins back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $4.430 million contract that included $2.523 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $450,000 and $651,408 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Cravens appeared in 11 games for the Redskins and recorded 34 tackles, one sack, an interception and five pass defenses. Cravens was limited to playing 294 total snaps last year.
