Seahawks Sign RB Eddie Lacy To One-Year Deal Worth Up To $5.55M

The Seahawks are signing former Packers RB Eddie Lacy to a contract on Tuesday, according to his agency.

  • Jason La Canfora reports that Lacy’s contract includes a number of provisions including weight clauses, per-game roster bonuses and production incentives.
  • La Canfora adds that Lacy can earn up to $5.5 million, but he’ll receive $3 million guaranteed, which serves as his floor.
  • Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Lacy weighed in at 267 pounds during one of his free agent visits either Seattle, Green Bay or Minnesota.
  • According to Field Yates, the weight bonuses in Lacy’s contract pay $55,000 for: 255 lbs (May), 250 lbs (June and August) and 245 (September-December).

Lacy visited with the Seahawks last week and also met with the Vikings and Packers before deciding to join Seattle today.

Lacy, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Packers back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3.392 million contract and is now in position to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

The Packers placed him on injured reserve back in October with a foot injury that required surgery.

In 2016, Lacy rushed for 360 yards on 71 carries (5.1 YPC) to go along with four receptions for 28 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
