Titans Trade WR Dorial Green-Beckham To Eagles For OL Dennis Kelly

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve traded for Titans WR Dorial Green-Beckham in exchange for veteran OL Dennis Kelly.

The Eagles could really use a receiver with Green-Beckham’s size, and it was clear that he may not have a big role in the Titans’ offense this year with the depth they have at the position.

During the draft last year, there were actually some who believed Green-Beckham was talented enough to draw some Calvin Johnson comparisons. However, he’s been inconsistent since entering the NFL.

In fact, Charles Robinson reports that the Titans were upset with how Green-Beckham responded to their request that he work harder in the offseason. Instead, Green-Beckham reported to the team out of shape and hasn’t shown any improvement.

Green-Beckham,  23, is a former second-round pick of the Titans back in May of last year. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year rookie contract that included a $2.335 million signing bonus and stands to make a base salary of $689,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Green-Beckham appeared in all 16 games for the Titans and caught 32 passes for 549 yards receiving and four touchdowns.

Kelly, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He’s managed to make the 53-man roster each season since entering the NFL.

Kelly was entering the final year of his contract when the Eagles signed him to a one-year, $880,000 extension through 2017 this past April.

Last year, Kelly was active for 14 games and played a total of 403 snaps for the Eagles.
