Brian Urlacher May Miss The Rest Of The Preseason

Bears LB Brian Urlacher could be sidelined the entire preseason due to knee soreness, according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.

However, Urlacher mentions that he’ll be ready by week one.

“Sept. 9, I’ll be ready to play for sure,” Urlacher said via McClure. “That’s really all that matters to me. Preseason games, all these practices … I’d love to be out there, but I’m not going to put myself in jeopardy of missing the first game.”

Urlacher, who has missed the last nine practices, was absent from Bears camp for five days due to personal reasons. He’s recovering from a sprained MCL and partially sprained PCL that he suffered in a win over the Vikings in last season’s final game.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that Bears MLB Brian Urlacher has returned to training camp.

The veteran had left Bears practice on Monday for “personal reasons,” which created some speculation that tests were being done on his right knee. Urlacher has missed a number of practices in recent weeks, so there’s obviously some concern about the current status of his knee.

There’s still no official word yet from the team on the absence of Urlacher, although information on this situation should is expected in the coming days.
