Broncos Agree To Four-Year Extension With S Darian Stewart

Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos and S Darian Stewart have agreed to terms on a four-year extension.

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Stewart’s four-year extension will be worth up to $30 million and will include $17.5 million in guarantees.

Stewart, 28, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2010. He spent the first four years of his career in St. Louis before the Ravens signed him to a one-year contract worth $1.3 million that included $300,000 guaranteed.

The Broncos signed him to a two-year, $4.25 million contract that included a $1.25 million signing bonus back in March. This four-year extension will keep Stewart in Denver through the 2020 season.

So far this season, Stewart has appeared in 10 games and recorded 45 total tackles, three interceptions, three pass defences, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. ProFootballFocus has him rated as the No. 10 overall safety out of 86 qualifying players.
