Report: Broncos CB Champ Bailey Has “Serious Foot Sprain”

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Broncos CB Champ Bailey has a “serious [foot] sprain” that is expected to keep him out for several weeks.

Initial reports suggested that Bailey might have a fracture or possibly even a foot tear. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean the Broncos shouldn’t be worried. Bailey’s mid-foot sprain could turn out to be of the Lisfranc variety, which may force him out of action a period of time.

The Broncos will be forced to turn to Chris Harris, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Tony Carter while Bailey is out.
