Broncos “Confident” About Signing LT Ryan Clady To An Extension

Denver Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell mentioned that the team remains “confident” that they’ll be able to reach an agreement on a long-term extension with LT Ryan Clady.

“We want him here,” said Russell, per Lindsay Jones.

The Broncos placed their franchise tag on the 26-year-old left tackle, which means Clady is set to make $9.828 million for the upcoming season, but will be an unrestricted free agent again next year. Previous reports indicated that Clady has no intention of reporting to the Broncos offseason program without an extension. Clady is believed to be seeking a contract similar to the one signed by Browns LT Joe Thomas (eight-years, $92 million contract with $44 million guaranteed).

Last year, Pro Football Focus has Clady rated as the No. 4 offensive tackle in the league. Denver and Clady’s representatives will have until July 15 to negotiate an extension, so this figures to be a popular topic in the coming months.
