Broncos Could Pursue DE Dwight Freeney

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that a league source has informed him that the Broncos may pursue DE Dwight Freeney if they’re unable to reach an agreement on a restructured contract with DE Elvis Dumervil

The Colts have already mentioned that they have no plans to retain Freeney, so he’ll be free to shop around for a new opportunity.

Dumervil is set to make $12 million for the 2013 season and it’s been reported that this figure will become guaranteed on fifth day of new league year.

Freeney, 33, could provide a decent pass rush at a reasonable cost for the Broncos. Klis estimates that the Broncos could sign Freeney for something close to $5 million and use the saving elsewhere.

We have Freeney listed as the No. 54 best available player in our Top 100 Free Agents List.
