Broncos DE Derek Wolfe Suffers Hairline Elbow Fracture

Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that Broncos DE Derek Wolfe suffered a hairline fracture to his right elbow during Sunday night’s loss to the Raiders.

  • According to Anderson, Wolfe is scheduled for a CT Scan today and had X-rays taken of the injury last night.
  • Wolfe told Anderson of the injury: “I’m gonna be alright. It really doesn’t hurt that bad.

Wolfe was carted off to the locker room during and it was later announced that he was dealing with an elbow injury.

According to former NFL physician David Chao, Wolfe likely won’t require surgery but is looking at being sidelined for four to six weeks.

Wolfe, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Broncos back in 2012. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $36.7 million contract that included $17.5 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $4.5 million for the 2016 season.

This year, Wolfe has appeared in nine games for the Broncos and recorded 30 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 25 interior defender out of 119 qualifying players.
