Broncos DL Billy Winn Carted Off With “Serious” Knee Injury

Broncos DL Billy Winn was carted off the field from Thursday’s preseason game after sustaining a “serious” right knee injury, according to Mike Klis.

Winn, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns back in 2012. He spent over three years in Cleveland before he was traded to the Colts in return for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2017.

The Broncos signed him to a one-year contract in July of last year. Denver then re-signed him to a contract back in May.

In 2016, Winn appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 19 tackles, no sacks and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 97 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Winn’s injury as the news is available.
