Broncos DT Adam Gotsis Arrested On Rape Charge

According to the Denver Post, Broncos DT Adam Gotsis has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Georgia back in 2013 while he was still in college at Georgia Tech.

Gotsis surrendered to police back on March 7 in Atlanta and charged with strong-arm rape. He was later released on $50,000 bond.

The Broncos released the following statement regarding the matter:

We were recently informed of an investigation into an alleged incident involving Adam Gotsis that occurred in 2013 when he was in college. Our organization was aware of his arrest on March 7, and it is our understanding that no determination has been made at this time as to whether any charges will be filed.

“The Broncos take an accusation of this nature very seriously and will continue to closely monitor the legal proceedings. This issue was promptly reported to the NFL as soon as we learned of it, and we will remain in communication with the league office regarding this matter.”

Gotsis, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Broncos back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $3.9 million contract and set to make base salaries of $807,991 and $986,987 over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Gotsis appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 41 tackles, two sacks, a fumble recovery and four pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding Gotsis as the news is available.
