Broncos & Falcons Already Showing Interest In Dwight Freeney?

Terry McCormick reports that the Broncos and Falcons appear to have interest in free agent DE Dwight Freeney.

McCormick adds that these teams could also be targeting Osi Umenyiora as well.

Freeney, 33, could provide a decent pass rush at a reasonable cost for the Broncos, but their interest figures to be determined by what happens with DE Elvis Dumervil. Denver has reportedly asked him to take a pay cut from the $12 million he’s set to make for the 2013 season.

As for Atlanta, they could really use a reasonably priced pass rusher now that they’ve parted ways with John Abraham. Freeney is only slightly younger than Abraham, so I’m sure his asking price will be a huge factor in regards to their overall level of interest.

The Seahawks and Buccaneers have also been tossed out as speculative options for free agent defensive ends.

We have him listed as the No. 36 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
