Broncos Former 2nd-Rd WR Cody Latimer Could Also Be Trade Candidate

Troy Renck of ABC 7 in Denver expects the Broncos field trade interest in former second-round WR Cody Latimer in the coming days, as teams get ready to cut their rosters down to 53 players.

Renck specifically mentions the emergence of Jordan Taylor and Kalif Raymond as part of the reason for the Broncos make him available for trade.

Latimer, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Broncos back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $3,708,650 contract and set to make a base salary of $925,725 for the 2017 season.

Latimer is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2018.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Latimer would free up $925,725 of available cap space while creating $254,300 in dead money.

In 2016, Latimer appeared in 12 games for the Broncos and caught eight passes for 76 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also contributed 200 kick return yards.

We’ll have more regarding a potential Latimer trade as the news is available.
