Broncos Hiring Brock Olivo As Special Teams Coordinator

Mike Klis of 9 News is reporting that the Broncos have agreed to terms with Brock Olivo to be their new special teams coordinator.

Olivo will replace Joe DeCamillis as the teams’ special teams coordinator after the Broncos elected to not bring DeCamillis back. The Jaguars have since hired DeCamillis as their special teams coordinator.

Olivo, 40, began his coaching career with Coastal Carolina back in 2012. After two teams there, Olivo departed for an opportunity with the Chiefs as their assistant special teams coach under Dave Toub, who actually interviewed for the Broncos’ head-coaching position.

According to Football Outsiders, the Broncos’ special teams unit ranked No. 22 in the NFL during the 2016 season. The year before, the Broncos were No. 14.
