Broncos Hosting RB Jamaal Charles For Visit Tuesday

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Broncos are bringing in free agent RB Jamaal Charles for a visit on Tuesday. Schefter adds that the Broncos are “enthused” about meeting with Charles.

This is the first reported interest in Charles since he visited with the Seahawks back in March.

He’s clearly one of the best running backs available in the free agent market and would be an interesting addition to the Broncos’ offense.

It’s worth mentioning that Charles is coming off of an injury-filled season that required surgeries to both of his knees, so this is likely the main reason he’s still available at this point in the year.

Charles, 30, was in the final year of his four-year, $28 million contract that included $8.3 million guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $3.75 million for the 2017 season when the Chiefs cut him in a move that freed up $7 million of available cap space.

In 2016, Charles appeared in three games and rushed for 40 yards on 12 carries (3.3 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 14 yards receiving and a touchdown.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
