Broncos Have Some Interest In Re-Signing DT Sylvester Williams

Josina Anderson of ESPN is told that the Broncos have “some interest” in re-signing free agent DT Sylvester Williams. However, Anderson adds that his asking price is going to be a big consideration for Denver.

Anderson mentions that the Broncos could try to address some of their other free agents before the market officially opens on Thursday.

The defensive tackle market is actually pretty deep this year, so it’s possible that Williams could end up being a value signing for some team.

Williams, 28, was taken with the No. 28 overall pick back in 2013. He’ played out the final year of his four-year, $7.6 million rookie contract but the Broncos elected to not pick up his fifth-year option last year.

In 2016, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 29 tackles, one sack and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 98 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
