Broncos LB Danny Trevathan Says He Will Miss 4-8 Weeks

Denver Broncos LB Danny Trevathan told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that doctor’s told him he would miss “four to eight weeks.”

  • Trevathan said that his ACL and MCL are fine, but that he has a knee fracture.
  • The Broncos are officially calling the injury a medial tibial impaction fracture and estimating his recovery at 6-8 weeks.

Trevathan was carted off the field during 11-on-11 drills Tuesday.

Trevathan led the Broncos in tackles last season with 129, en route to establishing himself as one of the better young linebackers in the league.

While Denver substantially invested in veteran free agents – most notably DE/LB DeMarcus Ware, CB Aqib Talib, and S T.J. Ward – losing a potential building block for a large chunk of the year will hurt.  Broncos fans should be relieved however, that his ACL and MCL were not damaged.
