Broncos LB Deiontrez Mount Out For Season With Achilles Tear

Mike Klis of 9 News reports that Broncos LB Deiontrez Mount suffered a torn Achilles during Tuesday’s practice and will now miss the 2018 season.

Mount went down with what was believed to be an ankle injury yesterday and he had to be carted off the field. There was some optimism that he would be okay, but it looks like it proved to be a worse injury than anticipated.

Mount, 25, is a former sixth-round pick by the Titans of the 2015 NFL draft. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.428 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $525,000 when the Titans cut him loose coming out of the preseason in 2016.

Mount had a brief stint with the Colts before he was signed to the Broncos’ practice squad last year and eventually promoted to their active roster.

In 2017, Mount appeared in seven games and recorded seven tackles and no sacks.
