Broncos Lose CB Chris Harris For The Season

Lindsay Jones was first to report that a Monday MRI on Broncos CB Chris Harris‘ knee confirmed that he has a torn ACL and will be out for the remainder of the season.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Harris only tore his ACL, which is actually somewhat positive news with regards to his offseason workout.
  • Rapoport adds that Harris will undergo surgery in the next few weeks.

This is a huge loss for the Broncos secondary given that Harris has been one of their most reliable defensive backs this season.

Harris, 24, was rated as the No. 9 qualifying cornerback in the league by Pro Football Focus. Denver will be forced to turn to veterans Quentin Jammer and Champ Bailey for next weeks AFC Championship game against the Patriots.

Jammer  particularly struggled against Philip Rivers and the Chargers on Sunday, so there is a good chance that Tom Brady will look to exploit that matchup next weekend. The Broncos do have Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie who has played great this season, so his presence should at least offer them some stability in the secondary.
