Broncos Place CB Aqib Talib & OLB DeMarcus Ware On Non-Football Injury List

The Denver Broncos announced Wednesday that they’ve placed CB Aqib Talib on the non-football injury list.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, considering that Talib is still recovering gunshot wounds he sustained to his right leg.

The NFL is reportedly still investigating the circumstance that resulted in Talib being shot and some have said that he could face punishment from the NFL, considering that he’s had multiple off-the-field incidents like this since entering the league.

Talib, 30, is in the third year of his six-year, $57 million contract that includes $26 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $8.5 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Talib appeared 15 games for the Broncos and recorded 45 tackles, three interceptions with two of them bring returned for touchdowns, and 14 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
