Broncos Place DE Billy Winn On Injured Reserve, Sign DT Nelson Adams

The Denver Broncos have officially placed DE Billy Winn on injured reserve and signed DT Nelson Adams to a contract on Saturday, according to Jeff Legwold.

Winn was, unfortunately, lost for the season after he suffered a torn ACL that he sustained during Thursday’s preseason opener.

Winn, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns back in 2012. He spent over three years in Cleveland before he was traded to the Colts in return for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2017.

The Broncos signed him to a one-year contract in July of last year. Winn returned to Denver on a one-year, $775,000 deal this past May.

In 2016, Winn appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 19 tackles, no sacks and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 97 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.
