Broncos Placing WR Carlos Henderson On Did Not Report List

The Denver Broncos are placing former second-round WR Carlos Henderson on the reserve/did not report list on Wednesday, according to Mike Klis.

Klis adds that Henderson is dealing with family and personal situation.

His agent, Erik Burkhardt, said of the situation: “We’ve spoken to Coach Joseph and the organization and they are fully aware of this and have been supportive.”

Back in January, Henderson was arrested and charged in West Monroe, LA with a first offense possession of marijuana. According to the police report, a GMC Yukon was driving at 84 MPH in a 60 MPH zone when he was pulled over by police.

Upon stopping the car, the arresting officer says there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Henderson was a passenger in the vehicle but both he and the driver denied having any marijuana or smoking inside the vehicle.

The officers found “thick green residue” in Henderson’s mouth, and while he denied eating any marijuana before the traffic stop, he did admit to smoking earlier Sunday. Henderson later posted bond and was released from jail.

Henderson wound up missing his entire rookie season after he underwent surgery for a thumb injury and was later placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason.

Henderson, 23, was selected with the No. 82 overall pick by the Broncos in the 2017 NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $3.32 million contract with the Broncos and stands to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

During his three-year college career at Louisiana Tech, Henderson recorded 147 receptions for 2,878 yards receiving (19.6 YPR) for 28 touchdowns. He also finished with 32 rushing attempts for 259 yards (8.1 YPC) and two touchdowns.
