Broncos QB Trevor Siemian Has “Serious Chance” At Winning Starting Job

ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned in an interview with Sirius Fantasy Sports Radio that Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has a “serious chance” to be the team’s starting quarterback this year.

“The Trevor Siemian talk and chatter is real,” Schefter said. “He has a legitimate chance to win the job…the competition is real.

The Broncos have been clear that Siemian would be in the mix for the job this summer along with Mark Sanchez and possibly first-round pick Paxton Lynch.

In fact, HC Gary Kubiak referred to Siemian back in May as a “sleeper” worth keeping an eye on for the job.

“He’s kind of the sleeper, I would say. Trevor knows the offense. He’s very comfortable and can throw the ball too,” Kubiak said, via the Denver Post. “I wouldn’t sleep on Trevor to win the job.”

Siemian, 24, was taken in the seventh round of last year’s draft by the Broncos. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $2.33 million contract and stands to make a base salary $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Siemian appeared in one game for the Broncos, but just took a knee for them late into the game.

We’ll have more regarding the Broncos’ quarterback battle as the news is available.
