Negotiations Between Broncos & RB Ronnie Hillman “Heating Up”

According to Mike Klis of 9News, contract negotiations between the Broncos and free agent RB Ronnie Hillman are “heating up” and Denver is “hopeful” to get a deal done by Monday.

It is worth mentioning that Klis reported last week that the Broncos had exchanged contract proposals with Hillman.

Even after re-signing Hillman, Klis believes it’s still possible they target a running back in this year’s draft.

Denver managed to bring back C.J. Anderson after they matched the Dolphins’ offer sheet, but they could still use help at the position.

Hillman, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Broncos back in 2012. He has played out his rookie contract and is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time.

In 2015, Hillman appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and ran for 863 yards on 207 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 24 receptions for 111 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 49 running back out of qualifying 69 players.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
