Broncos Rumors: Tim Tebow & John Fox Targeting A RB?

Tim Tebow

NFL.com’s Michael Lombardi’s caused a bit of a stir earlier in the week regarding Tim Tebow‘s support in Denver and then John Fox announces that Kyle Orton is the teams starting quarterback yesterday.

Today Broncos G.M. Brian Xanders was asked to address the report.

“First of all, I think that report was false.  I think there’s a lot of people in our building that are behind Tim Tebow,” Xanders said.

“[Tebow] is someone the franchise invested a lot into in terms of draft picks, the contract, but he’s going to create his role.  But he’s done a good job so far with his limited opportunities.   So that report was false,” Xanders said.

Pro Football Talk makes a decent point that its not the amount of people who support Tebow as much as it’s the number of people who don’t. Xanders could have shown stronger support for Tim which would have helped to put the rumors to rest.

Running Back

Broncos new head coach John Fox mentioned that they will look to add a complementary back to their offense during the offseason.

“You need more than one guy to make a full commitment to running the ball,” Fox said. “We’ll be in the process of finding more than one guy.”
Knowshon Moreno has been good at time but has yet to put together a great NFL season in his first two years. The idea of adding another running back would make sense for them considering that their running game drastically underperformed their passing attack in 2010.
