Broncos Sign DL Shelby Harris To Futures Deal

The Denver Broncos have signed DL Shelby Harris to a future/reserve contract on Wednesday, according to Nicki Jhabvala.

Harris becomes the 13th player to sign a futures deal with the Broncos since their season ended a few weeks ago. The full list includes:

  1. RB Bernard Pierce (NFLTR)
  2. RB Zac Brooks
  3. C Dillon Day
  4. DE Iosia Iosia
  5. OT Justin Murray
  6. LS Jeff Overbaugh
  7. DL Travis Raciti
  8. TE Steven Scheu
  9. WR Hunter Sharp
  10. LB Kevin Synder
  11. TE Austin Traylor
  12. WR Mekale McKay
  13. DL Shelby Harris

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Harris, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. He’s been on an off of their practice squad over the past two years but returned to the Raiders on a one-year, exclusive rights deal in April.

Unfortunately, the Raiders waived Harris back in May to make room for undrafted rookies. Harris later signed on with the Jets in July but was among their early roster cuts during the preseason.

The Cowboys signed him to their practice squad back in December before cutting him loose a few weeks ago.

In 2015, Harris appeared in seven games and recorded 12 tackles and a sack for the Raiders.
