Broncos Sign Veteran DT Clinton McDonald To Two-Year, $7M Deal

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Broncos have signed veteran DT Clinton McDonald to a contract on Wednesday.

  • According to Mike Klis, McDonald receives a two-year, $7 million contract and will earn $4 million for the 2018 season.

McDonald visited with the Raiders in recent days, but it looks like his best opportunity was with the Broncos.

McDonald, 31, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bengals back in 2009. He lasted just a few years in Cincinnati before catching on with the Seahawks for the 2011 season.

After three years in Seattle, the Buccaneers signed him to a contract and he’s spent the past four years in Tampa Bay.

McDonald was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, McDonald appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 29 tackles, five sacks and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 111 interior defender out of 122 qualifying players.
