Broncos Sign WR Aaron Burbridge To Futures Deal

The Denver Broncos have signed WR Aaron Burbridge to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Thursday, according to Mike Klis.

The Broncos have now signed 12 players to futures deals including:

  1. WR Fred Brown
  2. QB Garrett Grayson
  3. WR Chad Hansen
  4. LB A.J. Johnson
  5. OT Andreas Knappe
  6. DT Caushaud Lyons
  7. RB Khalfani Muhammad
  8. G Austin Schlottmann
  9. DB Linden Stephens
  10. S Shamarko Thomas
  11. OL Don Barclay
  12. WR Aaron Burbridge

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Burbridge, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster in his first season in San Francisco, but was waived from injured reserve with a settlement in a few weeks into the 2018 season.

From there, Burbridge was signed to the 49ers’ practice squad before they eventually cut him loose in November.

In 2016, Burbridge appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and caught seven passes for 88 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
