Broncos Starting Brock Osweiler In Week 16

The Denver Broncos announced Wednesday that Brock Osweiler will starting their Week 16 matchup against the Bengals.

Peyton Manning will focus on his rehabilitation from a torn plantar fascia, and is not expected to practice Wednesday or be active this week’s game.

On Tuesday, Broncos HC Gary Kubiak said he is “starting from scratch” in determining the health of Osweiler and Manning.

Osweiler, 25, is in the final year of his four-year, $3.516 million rookie contract that included a $997,584 signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.

This season, Osweiler has thrown for 1,436 yards while completing 60.3 percent of his passes to go along with eight touchdowns and four interceptions over the course of seven games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 quarterback out of 37 qualifying players.
