Broncos Starting Trevor Siemian Against Chargers Tonight

  • According to Bob Holtzman, the Broncos “didn’t tax” Siemian at practice this week, which means he hasn’t thrown very much before the medical staff has cleared him.

Siemian suffered a shoulder last week and the Broncos ultimately decided to go with rookie Paxton Lynch for their Week 5 matchup with the Falcons. However, the team indicated that they were prepared to hand the job back to Siemian when he’s ready, which probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise, as Lynch struggled against the Falcons.

Siemian, 24, was taken in the seventh round of last year’s draft. He’s currently int he second year of his four-year, $2.33 million contract and set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Siemian had thrown for 824 yards while completing 67.3 percent of his passes to go along with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 quarterback out of 35 qualifying players.
