Broncos Targeting Free Agent QB’s?

Mike Klis of the Denver Post takes a look at some of the free agent quarterback options that the Denver Broncos could consider adding to backup Tim Tebow next season.

At the top of Klis’ list are Dolphins QB Chad Henne and Buccaneers QB Josh Johnson.  Klis mentions that Henne has been under the radar as many have focused their attention on Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn but he notes that Henne’s game against New England to start the year was a pretty good indication of what he can do as a starting quarterback. Johnson would fit into the team’s run based offense as he’s a great athlete that was under utilized in Tampa Bay could provide some security in case something happens to Tebow.

Klis also lists Jason CampbellShaun Hill, and David Garrard as some other options that they could consider.

Denver needs to decide if they’re going to legitimately go all in on Tebow, in which case, they should sign someone like Johnson who can run a similar offense instead of having to readjust the team if an injury occurs. Dennis Dixon should also be a consideration if they chose to go this route.
