Broncos Teammates Show Support For Kyle Orton

Throughout Monday nights game fans were shouting for Tim Tebow as Kyle Orton struggled to move the ball. It’s only the first game of the season but the Broncos looked pretty bad on the offensive side of the ball which started up the speculation that Orton could be headed to the bench. Orton’s at least has the support of his teammates.

That’s the circumstances that we’re in. That’s the climate that we’re in, and we knew we were going to be in — so be it. There’s no being patient with Kyle. Kyle is ready to go. He didn’t perform maybe as well as people expected him to. Whatever. He’s our quarterback, and we’re going to eventually win games,” wide receiver Brandon Lloyd said.

“I don’t think anything is going to change with our depth chart,” said linebacker Joe Mays. “I don’t think that they’re going to bring Tebow in. We just have to execute with what we have.”

As we discussed throughout the offseason, the Broncos will have to play Tebow if they continue to struggle. Winning changes everything but a losing record with Orton will not be tolerated by the fans. The easiest way to end the drama is to put Tebow in at some point and show them what they have. The only issue now is whether John Fox will go to Brady Quinn first.
