Broncos Tender Offer To RFA CB Tony Carter

The Denver Broncos have tendered an original round offer to restricted free agent CB Tony Carter, per Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

  • Klis mentions that Carter would make a non-guaranteed salary of $1.542 million non-guaranteed if he signed the offer.
  • Aaron Wilson adds that Carter has received interest from “several teams” so far.

With Carter being tendered, the Broncos have the right to match any contract that he receives from other teams. Given that Carter reportedly has interest from a number of teams, it will be interesting to see if he receives any offers.

Carter, 28, was primarily used in Denver’s special teams unit and only received 87 total snaps on the defensive side. Carter appeared in eight games in 2014, recording five total tackles, one pass defense, and one fumble recovery in which he scored a touchdown.

Pro Football Focus rated Carter as the No. 136 cornerback out of 230 qualifiers when all cornerbacks that played in 2014 are accounted for.

We’ll have more information regarding Carter when the news becomes available.
