Broncos Trade OT Chris Clark To Texans For 2016 7th Rd Pick

Jeff Legwold of ESPN reports that the Broncos have agreed to trade OT Chris Clark to the Texans in return for a 2016 seventh-round pick.

  • The deal won’t be official until Clark passes a physical for the Broncos later on in the day.

Heading into the preseason, Clark looked like he was in line to be the team’s reserve tackle. However, it appears as though he may have still been a long-shot to make their 53-man roster in the coming weeks.

The Broncos are will likely go with Ty Sambrailo at left tackle and Ryan Harris on the right side.

Clark, 29, is entering the final year of his three-year, $5.3 million contract and is set to make a base salary of $1.4 million for the 2015 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Clark will free up $1,400,000 in cap space while creating $225,668 in dead money.

In 2014, Clark appeared in 13 games for the Bronocs. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players.
