Broncos Use 2nd-Rd Tender On RFA LB Brandon Marshall, Seahawks & Dolphins Interested?

Trey Wingo of ESPN reports that the Broncos have used a second-round tender on restricted free agent LB Brandon Marshall.

  • Troy Renck mentions that the Seahawks could also be among the interested teams in Marshall.

The second-round tender will cost the Broncos $2.553 million for the 2016 season and net them a second-round pick if he receives an offer sheet from another team, and they elect to pass on matching it.

According to Wingo, Marshall is still expected to generate interest from other teams, even with the second-round tender being used on him.

Wingo specifically mentions the Dolphins as a team to watch for Marshall.

Marshall, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012. However, he lasted just over a year in Jacksonville before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season and later signed to the Broncos practice squad.

In 2015, Marshall appeared in all 16 games and recorded 102 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 12 linebacker out of 97 qualifying players.
