Broncos Not “Driving A Hard Bargain” For Tim Tebow

Yahoo’s Mike Silver mentions that the Broncos will not be “trying to drive a hard bargain” for Tim Tebow.

Evan Silva of Rotoworld mentions that Tebow’s contract is going to be another obstacle for any potential trade to deal with, as his contract includes salaries escalators that will increase his salary to $6.05 million (2013) and $7.14 million (2014).

As of now the Dolphins and Jaguars continue to be mentioned as landing spots for Tebow but the Eagles and Patriots are also being tossed out as speculative options.

With the news that Peyton Manning will be signing with the Denver Broncos, the attention quickly turns to other quarterbacks like Tim Tebow and Alex Smith.

Several reports have suggested that Tebow will now be added to the trading block. The only question is whether someone will be willing to part with any amount of value in return for him. The Jaguars have been tossed out as a possibility but the addition of Chad Henne complicates that situation much more than it would have previously.

Alex Smith has said that his first choice is to return to the 49ers and now that Manning has decided to go in a different direction, a deal figures to get done in the very future.

Miami needs a quarterback after missing out on a number of options during free agency and Tebow is beloved in the state of Florida so it could be an idea that gets kicked around. I can’t see the Dolphins trading a draft pick for him but things can change depending on the pressure applied by the fans to finally do something.

The Broncos will most likely end up choosing to either keep him behind Manning which doesn’t seem all that crazy or to release him out right. It’s crazy to think that Tebow’s remarkable 2011 season would lead to him being cut but that’s certainly a distinct possibility at this point.
