Broncos Worked Out 10 Players Including S Josh Evans & LB Khairi Fortt

According to Adam Caplan, the Broncos worked out 10 players on Monday including S Josh Evans, LB Khairi Fort, CB Demetrius McCray, and S Dezmen Southward.

  • Howard Balzer adds that the Broncos also worked out LB Deon Lacey, LB John Lotulelei, DB Kevin Peterson, CB Keith Baxter, CB Mike Hilton, CB and Corey Tindal.

Evans, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.289 million contract and set to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season when the Jaguars elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Redskins signed Evans to contract back in October but waived him to make room for RB Mack Brown.

In 2016, Evans appeared in two games for the Redskins and recorded one tackle and no interceptions.

Fortt, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Saints back in 2014. He, unfortunately, lasted just a few months in New Orleans before he was waived and later claimed by the Bengals.

His time in Cincinnati was also short-lived, as he was once again cut loose just a month after joining the team. The Jaguars later signed him off of the Bengals’ practice squad, but he was among their early roster cuts at the start of the 2015 season.

Seattle signed Fortt to a contract shortly after this year’s draft before later waiving him in June. He has worked out for the Colts and Redskins since becoming a free agent but was not signed to a contract.

In 2014, Fortt appeared in three games and recorded a single tackle for the Jaguars
