This is the first reported interest in Gerhart in some time.
Gerhart, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Vikings back in 2010. He spent four years in Minnesota before signing a three-year, $10.5 million contract that included $4.5 million guaranteed with the Jaguars back in 2014. He stands to make a base salary of $2.5 million this season and another $3 million in 2016.
The Jaguars elected to cut him loose at the start of free agency several months ago.
Gerhart’s 2015 season came to an end with him appearing in seven games and rushing for 44 yards on 20 carries (2.2 YPC) to go along with three receptions and 23 yards receiving.
