Browns Sticking With Jason Campbell As Their Starter In Week 9

Update:

Browns HC Rob Chudzinski announced Monday that that Jason Campbell will remain their starting quarterback this week as they prepare to take on the Ravens in Week 9.

Campbell was 22-of-37 for 293 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s Week 8 loss to the Chiefs. The fact that he was on the road against a very tough Chiefs defense makes this a pretty impressive performance from a guy many didn’t expect a whole lot from. He was able to make plays down the field and didn’t turn the ball over, so he’s clearly deserving of another shot as the team’s starter.

Browns HC Rob Chudzinski announced on Wednesday that Jason Campbell will be their starter against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, per Mary Kay Cabot.

Brandon Weeden is coming off of a pretty bad performance against a beat up Packers team. On the season, Weeden has completed 52.8 percent of his passes for 1,154 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions. The Browns are 0-4 with Weeden as their starter this season, and it appears as though they are done with their evaluation of him.

Campbell was skipped over in favor of Brian Hoyer the last time the Browns made a change at quarterback, but he’ll now get his shot. Although, this time it will be against the league’s best defense.
