Browns’ CEO Joe Banner Insists WR Josh Gordon Is Not Available

Browns’ CEO Joe Banner told Jim Corbett of USA Today Sports that they have “absolutely” no interest in trading WR Josh Gordon.

“We’re absolutely not shopping Josh,” said Banner on Thursday. “We’re not going to shop him and we don’t have any plan or intention to trade him.”

Following the shocking trade of RB Trent Richardson to the Colts, many expected the Browns to be entering a rebuilding mode, something Banner has denied.

“When we did the Trent Richardson trade, the perception was we were throwing in the towel, (so) we got calls on players,” Banner said. “I guess that was a natural reaction based on how the move was perceived.”

Recent reports have indicated that Gordon could be available for a second-round pick and one report even suggested that the Browns had been in contact with the 49ers regarding Gordon.

We’re still a few weeks away from the October 29 trade deadline, so you can expect Gordon’s name to continue to be mentioned as a speculative trade option.
