Browns Claim Terrelle Pryor Off Waivers From Bengals

Pro Football Talk reports that the Browns have claimed Terrelle Pryor off of waivers from the Bengals.

  • The Browns waived DB Landon Feichter to make room for Pryor.

Pryor has confirmed that he’s now willing to make the transition to playing receiver in the NFL after his lasted failed attempt to catch on with an NFL team as a quarterback.

Cleveland could obviously more competition at receiver as they prepare to head into training camp, but Pryor remains a big question mark moving forward, given that he previously told Jerry Brewer of the Seattle Times that he “[doesn’t] know how to catch.

Mike Garafolo notes that Browns OC John DeFilippo was Pryor’s quarterbacks coach in Oakland, so he’s obviously familiar with him as a player.

Pryor, 26, was taken by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft. He lasted a little over three years in Oakland before he was traded to the Seahawks for a seventh-round pick that ultimately became Jonathan Dowling.

Kansas City later signed Pryor to a one-year contract back in January, but his stay was obviously short lived.

Pryor appeared in 11 games during the 2013 season and completed 57.4 percent of his passes for 1,798 yards, seven touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
