Browns Claim WR Rodney Smith Off Waivers From Vikings, Cut WR LaRon Byrd

The Cleveland Browns announced that they have claimed WR Rodney Smith off of waivers from the Vikings and subsequently cut WR LaRon Byrd to make room for him.

Minnesota waived Smith on Thursday as they set their roster for last night’s game.

Smith, 24, signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State back in April of last year. He wound up appearing in four games during the 2013 season, but didn’t record a single statistic.

Smith offers plenty of size a 6’5 and 220 pounds, so it will be interesting to see if he ends up seeing some playing for the Browns.
