ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Cleveland Browns are “on the verge” of signing first-round pick QB Brandon Weeden.
Schefter adds that the two sides discussed a deal “into the night” and are reportedly “close” to finalizing an agreement.
Last night, the Browns managed to get Trent Richardson under contract, so it seems likely that Weedens contract will get done in the 24 hours. The Browns are expected to get him prepared to start for them this season, so there’s really no time to waste.
